Financial Strength & Ownership
Backed by institutional capital. Structured for the long term. Built to grow.

When you choose Luzern as your eCommerce partner, you are not working with a startup or a lightly capitalised agency.
You are working with a professionally managed, institutionally backed business with the financial structure, governance and strategic resources to support your brand for years to come. Our investor base spans early-stage venture capital through to growth private equity, and includes some of Ireland’s most respected institutional investors and government-backed innovation bodies.
This page sets out our ownership structure, the background of each investor, and what their involvement means for the brands and clients who work with us.

Cardinal Capital Group
Cardinal Capital Group made a significant investment in Luzern eCommerce in 2021, partnering with our founder and CEO Ken Doyle and the existing management team to support the next phase of growth. Cardinal is one of Ireland’s most respected private equity firms, founded in 2003 by Nigel McDermott and Nick Corcoran and headquartered in Dublin.
Cardinal focuses on partnering with established, growth-oriented businesses in the Irish mid-market — bringing not just capital, but strategic expertise, governance structure, and an extensive network of national and international relationships. Their portfolio track record includes investments in Bank of Ireland, the AA, Payzone UK, Lily O’Brien’s Chocolates, Uform and a range of leading companies across financial services, technology and consumer goods.
The Cardinal Ireland Partners fund, through which the Luzern investment was made, was the largest fund dedicated to investing in Irish companies at the time of its launch. Cardinal works closely with management teams to develop and execute aligned growth strategies, with a clear focus on scaling revenue, professionalising operations and building long-term equity value.
What Cardinal’s investment means for our clients
– Board-level oversight and financial governance aligned with institutional standards
– Capital available to invest in technology, people and operations ahead of client demand
– Strategic network and commercial relationships that benefit the brands we work with
– A partner with the runway and the commitment to support your brand for years, not quarters
Delta Partners
Delta Partners made an early-stage growth equity investment in Luzern, providing the capital and strategic support that enabled the business to build its platform, grow its client base and establish itself as a leading eCommerce services provider for global brands.
Delta Partners is one of Ireland’s most experienced venture capital firms, with over 120 investee companies across its history and more than €1.8 billion realised from its portfolio. Delta’s exits include Clavis (sold to Ascential plc), Sensl (sold to OnSemiconductor) and Neuravi (sold to Johnson & Johnson) — a portfolio that reflects both the quality of their deal selection and their ability to support companies through significant value creation events.

Enterprise Ireland
Enterprise Ireland is the Irish government agency responsible for supporting the development and growth of Irish enterprises in world markets. Its involvement with Luzern reflects the agency’s mandate to back ambitious, export-focused Irish technology businesses and support them in scaling internationally.
Enterprise Ireland’s backing of a company is a meaningful signal to prospective clients and investors alike. The agency’s support programmes are highly selective, focused on businesses with genuine technology differentiation, credible management teams and a clear international growth trajectory. Luzern meets each of those criteria.
Enterprise Ireland also operates as a cornerstone investor in Ireland’s broader venture capital ecosystem, including as a cornerstone investor in the Delta Partners fund through which Luzern received early-stage backing. This creates a continuity of state-supported institutional confidence in the Luzern business across multiple investment rounds and stages of development.
What Enterprise Ireland backing signals
– Verified technology differentiation and product credibility
– Recognised management capability and governance standard
– Clear international export and growth ambition
– Alignment with Ireland’s national enterprise and innovation strategy

What Our Ownership Structure Means for You
ECommerce is a fast-moving environment. Brands change strategies, marketplace algorithms shift, promotional calendars accelerate, and stock decisions need to be made in real time. The partner you choose to manage your channel presence needs to be operationally capable today — and financially stable enough to still be there tomorrow.
A number of eCommerce agencies and managed service providers in our market are founder-funded, lightly capitalised or dependent on short-term revenue cycles. That creates risk for the brands they serve. When investment in technology slows, when headcount is reduced, or when a partner exits the market, the brands left behind face significant disruption at exactly the moment they can least afford it.
Luzern is structured differently.
Our institutional backing from Cardinal Capital, our early venture investment from Delta Partners, and our ongoing relationship with Enterprise Ireland give us:
- The capital to invest in technology, talent and infrastructure ahead of client demand
- The governance and financial controls that meet the standards required by large brand owners and their procurement teams
- The operational and financial runway to build genuine long-term partnerships with the brands we serve
- The institutional credibility that gives our clients confidence when they are completing their own vendor due diligence processes

Procurement & Due Diligence Support
We understand that enterprise clients and large brand owners have internal requirements around vendor financial stability, data security, operational resilience and contractual governance. We take those requirements seriously and are experienced in supporting procurement and legal teams through the due diligence process.
Luzern is structured differently.
If you are evaluating Luzern as a partner and require supporting documentation, we are able to provide the following on request:
- Company accounts and financial statements
- Confirmation of ownership structure and institutional investor details
- Evidence of operational and data security controls
- References from existing enterprise and brand clients
- Contractual and service level documentation
- Information on our technology platform, data infrastructure and compliance framework
Please contact our team directly at hello@luzern.co to discuss your specific requirements. We are experienced in responding quickly and thoroughly to vendor assessment processes.
